La tangara golirrufa (Ixothraupis rufigula),^{también denominada tangará barbirrufa y tángara de garganta rufa,^{es una especie de ave paseriforme de la familia Thraupidae.}}

Distribución y hábitat

Esta especie de ave se encuentra distribuida por Colombia y Ecuador. Sus hábitats naturales son las selvas húmedas tropicales.

Así llamado así por su ordenada parche de la garganta rojiza que contrasta con la cabeza y el manto negro-negro manchado y partes inferiores pálidas (que dan al ave la apariencia de ser reducido o lentejuelas). El rojizo Garganta tanager tiene un alcance relativamente limitado en los Andes del oeste de Colombia y en el noroeste del Ecuador, más localmente, incluso más al sur, al suroeste del país. Su rango altitudinal alcanza hasta 1800 m. Relativamente común en la mayor parte de su gama, al igual que muchos Tangara tángaras esta especie se une regularmente bandadas mixtas, a menudo en grupos monoespecíficos de su propio. Se alimenta de insectos y pequeños frutos.

Rufous-throated tanager

The rufous-throated tanager (Ixothraupis rufigula) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in Colombia and Ecuador.

Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and heavily degraded former forest.

Well named for its neat rufous throat patch contrasting with the black head and the black-spotted mantle and pale underparts (which give the bird the appearance of being scaled or spangled). The Rufous-throated Tanager has a relatively limited range in the West Andes of Colombia and into northwest Ecuador, more locally even further south to the southwest of the country. Its altitudinal range reaches up to 1800 m. Relatively common over most of its range, like many Tangara tanagers this species regularly joins mixed-species flocks, often in monospecific groups of its own. It feeds on both insects and small fruits.
