La eufonia ventricanela (Euphonia fulvicrissa),​ también conocida como eufonia fulva, eufonia ventrifulva o fruterito de vientre acanelado, es una especie de ave paseriforme en la familia Fringillidae, anteriormente colocada en Thraupidae.

Distribución y hábitat

Habita en bosques húmedos de tierras bajas y bosques degradados de Colombia, Ecuador y Panamá.

Subespecies

Se reconocen tres subespecies:

• Euphonia fulvicrissa fulvicrissa P. L. Sclater, 1857– llanuras húmedas del centro de Panamá al noroeste de Colombia;
• Euphonia fulvicrissa omissa Hartert, 1913– centro tropical de Colombia;
• Euphonia fulvicrissa purpurascens Hartert, 1901– suroeste de Colombia (Nariño) al noroeste de Ecuador(Esmeraldas).

Fulvous-vented euphonia

The fulvous-vented euphonia (Euphonia fulvicrissa) is a species of bird in the family Fringillidae, formerly placed in the Thraupidae

It is found in Colombia, Ecuador, and Panama. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest.

Both sexes of the Fulvous-vented Euphonia are distinguished from other species of euphonia in their range by the tawny undertail coverts and center to the belly. Otherwise the male is a typical species of Euphonia, with a glossy purple head and chest, deep glossy blue back, and yellow forecrown and underparts.; the female is mostly olive, with a rufous forecrown. The most frequently heard vocalization of this species is a somewhat grating, double noted call. The Fulvous-vented Euphonia occurs in lowland humid forest and borders, secondary forest and regenerating clearings from eastern Panama south extreme northwestern Ecuador.
