La atila ocrácea (Attila torridus) es una especie de ave de la familia Tyrannidae, que se encuentra en el extremo noroccidental de Colombia, el occidente de Ecuador y el noroccidente del Perú.

Hábitat

Se encuentra en el nivel medio del bosque húmedo y en las plantaciones de cacao adyacentes, hasta los 1.000 m de altitud, ocasionalmente hasta los 1.700 msnm. Se alimenta de frutos y artrópodos, incluidos ortópteros y arañas. La especie se encuentra amenazada por pérdida de hábitat.

Descripción

Mide en promedio 20,5 cm de longitud. Cabeza, nuca y dorso color canela ocráceo; las alas más oscuras; pecho ocre, vientre amarillo. Pico negro, iris color avellana.

Ochraceous attila

The ochraceous attila (Attila torridus) is a species of bird in the family Tyrannidae. It is found in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and plantations . It is threatened by habitat loss.

The Ochraceous Attila is a large, striking flycatcher of northwestern South America. Found along the Ecuadorian coast and also barely into adjacent Peru and Colombia, this bird lives in upper levels of humid forest below 1400 meters in elevation. It is pale yellow-orange overall with yellow rump and underparts, blackish wings, and a thick, hooked black bill. While the bird often sits quietly in the open, its presence is given away by its loud, hollow, whistled call. Because of the bird’s small range, fragmented population, and continued loss of habitat, it is considered to be vulnerable by the IUCN Red List.
